Effective 5 September 2026
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Orderoo handles personal information when customers place orders, restaurants or shops apply or manage their account, and people contact us.
1. Who is responsible
Orderoo is operated by Orderoo in England. For data-protection questions or requests, email hello@orderoo.co.uk.
2. Information we collect
- Customer name, email, telephone number, delivery address and order information.
- Seller name, business type, address, contact details, product information, licensing information and application status.
- Account identity information supplied through the sign-in service.
- Basic technical information needed to operate, secure and diagnose the website.
3. Why we use it
We use personal information to process and communicate orders, connect customers with sellers, review business and alcohol-licence applications, provide seller accounts, prevent misuse, maintain records and comply with legal obligations.
Our main lawful bases are performance of a contract or steps requested before a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing Orderoo, and compliance with legal obligations. We will request consent where it is specifically required.
4. Who receives information
Order details are shared with the selected seller so it can prepare, deliver or make products available for collection. Where alcohol is ordered, the order records the customer’s 18+ declaration so the seller can carry out the required in-person age and ID check. We may also use technology and hosting providers that process information on our behalf. We do not sell personal information.
5. Payments
Orderoo currently does not collect card details. Customers pay the restaurant directly on collection or delivery. If online payments are introduced, this policy will be updated to identify the payment provider and how payment data is handled.
6. Retention
We keep order and transaction-related records only as long as reasonably needed for service, disputes, security and legal obligations. Unsuccessful restaurant applications and inactive account information are reviewed and deleted or anonymised when no longer required.
7. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection to use of your personal information. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Email us to make a request.
8. Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
9. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. Some technology providers may process information outside the UK; where this happens, appropriate legal safeguards must be used.
10. Cookies and changes
Orderoo uses essential technologies needed for security, sign-in and site operation. We will request consent before introducing non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. We may update this policy and will publish the new effective date here.
